Laurin
is a highly experienced therapist who practices with
patients who are suffering from hand or upper extremity
disorders since 1997.. She has experience in diagnosis
ranging from osteoarthritis (O/A), rheumatoid arthritist
(R/A), lateral and medial epicondylitis, wrist (sprain,
strains, fractures, internal and external fixatures
and tendonitis), S/Pflexor and extensor tendon repairs,
PIP, MP DIP joint fractures, S/P CVA, rotator cuff injuries
and repairs, shoulder impingement and tendonitis, RSD
(complex regional pain syndrome), and customized splints
for fractures and deformities.
Laurin
earned her BA in Social Relations with a minor in Psychology
from Lehigh University and her Masters of Science in
Occupational Therapy from Nova University. She has been
the Director of Occupational Therapy at Innova Health
since 2000 and continues with Advanced Fitness &
Therapy.
Karen
is an active member of the Federation of State Boards
for Physical Therapy as an advanced item writer for
the National Physical Therapist Assisting national licensing
examination and a committee member that reviews items
for the examination. She works closely with the local
Area Agency on Aging and the Florida Injury Prevention
for Seniors program, (FLIPS) through the Florida Department
of Elder Affairs developing Fall Prevention Community
Education programs to reduce falls in the older population.
Karen lectures on Balance and Vestibular Rehabilitation
nationally to heathcare professionals. She developed
the Balance and Vestibular Program at Martin Memorial
Health Systems in Stuart, FL in 1997.
Karen
completed the PTA program from Lynn University, received
her Masters of Science in Education with a concentration
in Sports Medicine from Indiana State University and
her BS in Physical Education and Health from Ashland
University.
Karen
is currently at the dissertation phase pursuing her
PhD in Health Sciences Education and Research. Her study
is "The relationship of vestibulo-ocular reflex
(VOR) to falling among physically active community adults
75 and older".
Along
with her work at Advanced Fitness & Therapy Center,
Karen is the Director of Clinical Education for the
PTA Program at South University, where she also teaches
Kinesiology and Professional Seminar.
Dan
Hutchinson, MS, ATC, CSCS Fitness

Dan
is a native of North Dakota and has been associated
with the Frappier Acceleration Sports Training®
Network since 1994. Dan received his undergraduate
degree in Athletic Training from North Dakota State
University in 2000. Dan is a Certified Athletic Trainer
(ATC) with licensure in the state of Florida, along
with being a Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist
(CSCS). Dan earned his masters degree in exercise physiology
(MS) from the University of Kentucky in 2002. While
working in the University of Kentucky (UK) Athletics
Department as a graduate assistant (GA), Dan worked
as a strength and conditioning coach training the tennis
and baseball teams, while assisting with the football
and swimming teams. Dan is an active member of the American
College of Sports Medicine (ACSM), the National Strength
and Conditioning Association (NSCA), and the National
Athletic Trainers Association (NATA).
